Butterfly World – See different species of butterflies from all parts of the world in this outdoor garden and lush tropical forest. This is said to be the largest butterfly garden in the US, covering approximately 3 acres of land. Fort Lauderdale Historical Museum – This is also known as the Old Fort Lauderdale Museum of History and it features artifacts and exhibits that depict the history of the city, starting from the Seminole era up to the present time.
Buehler Planetarium and Observatory – This is located in the campus of Broward Community College. Science lovers will definitely have a grand time here as they watch shows and use the observatory. State-of-the-art audiovisual equipment are used to give visitors an experience that seemingly feels like they are in fact in the outer space. Planetarium shows are on schedule here, so check it out first to make sure that you catch one during your visit to Fort Lauderdale.
Things to Do
Fun at the Beach – It will be hard to ignore the inviting beach once you are in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The lovely weather in the area and the clear blue sea are the perfect setting for a fun-filled day out in the sun.
Shop and Eat – A good place to do this is at the Riverwalk. You can find there a collection of restaurants, shops, and bars that will make you wish that you had more time to spend there. Beautiful landscapes, homes, and yachts line this preserved and pretty part of the city.
Ride a Plane – Specifically, a biplane. The pilot will give you a ride that you will never forget, which includes flying low over the sea and fast turns that will surely make your stomach to a somersault. This is an hour-long plane ride that you will never forget.
