Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda was once ranked #2 in the top 20 best places to live and much of that can be attributed to its lovely and uncongested community that is abundant in sunshine, wildlife, and clear blue beaches. If you want more proof, give the place a visit and enjoy the many attractions and activities that it has in store for you.
Places to See
Fisherman’s Village – Located in downtown Punta Gorda along the harbor, this area is home to a collection of shops, restaurants, and unique boutiques. You can enjoy great food here while basking on the view of the marina and then give in to some retail therapy afterwards.
Muscle Car City Museum – Car enthusiasts definitely have to give this museum a visit for a couple of hours of delightful experience. Rare, classic, and antique muscle cars are on display here, each with a story of its own. This is a great place for father and sons to bond while feasting their eyes on what seems to be everyone’s dream garage.
Punta Gorda History Park – Visiting this place is like being transported back in time because of the old buildings, homes, and shops that line the streets. The best day to visit, though, is on Sundays, during the farmer’s market, where you will find a wide array of fresh produce, antiques, plants, jewelries, and other items sold everywhere.
Things to Do
Swamp Tour – Babcock Ranch offers this tour, which is a ride on a buggy that will take you through a swamp and give you a close encounter with alligators, birds, and some snakes. The bus will then take you through a cattle ranch for some dry land tour.
Charter a Boat – You can always charter a boat to enjoy some sightseeing along the Charlotte Harbor or Peace River. Various boat sizes are available for different group sizes.
Eco-Tour – You can ride a boat with a marine biologist to go watch some dolphins or look for manatees. There are also kayak tours along mangrove tunnels and walking tours along Punta Gorda’s ecosystem that will introduce you to a variety of animals and plants. Plenty are in store for you in Punta Gorda’s boundless natural beauty.
